Caterpillar (Qingzhou) Co., Ltd., formerly known as Shandong Shantui Construction Machinery Co., Ltd., was established in 1958. It was restructured into a joint-stock enterprise in 2003 and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Caterpillar in 2008. The Shantui Construction Machinery brand has now become one of the important brands under Caterpillar, supporting the rapidly growing customer base in China and overseas emerging markets. Caterpillar Qingzhou is located in Qingzhou City, Shandong Province, with convenient transportation through high-speed railways.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Caterpillar, Caterpillar (Qingzhou) Co., Ltd. currently produces products under two major brands: "Cat® (Caterpillar)" and "Shantui Construction Machinery". The product series of Shantui Construction Machinery includes wheel loaders, road rollers, motor graders, crawler bulldozers, wide-body dump trucks, as well as structural components, work tools and other parts. The Shantui Construction Machinery brand has become one of the main product brands of Caterpillar.

To meet the growing global customer demand, since 2009, Caterpillar has accelerated the reinvestment and construction of Caterpillar (Qingzhou) Co., Ltd. With the support of the local government, Caterpillar (Qingzhou) Co., Ltd. has expanded its production scale and improved the production capacity and manufacturing level of various complete machines and parts businesses.
